Hoops, hype, and hues: Field Day brings Netzaberg together
ESCHENBACH, Germany – Netzaberg Middle School wrapped up the school year in unforgettable fashion with a Field Day that brought together students, staff, and families in a celebration of community, fun, and school spirit.
The day tipped off with an exciting student-versus-teacher basketball game, organized by the dynamic P.E. duo affectionately known as Coach Pheneas and Coach Ferb (Coach Emmanuel Finney and Coach Corey Jones, respectively). The matchup quickly became the highlight of the morning, drawing cheers and energy from the entire school. The student team, coached by our fearless leader Dr. Darnell Dean, faced off against a determined group of teachers with an assist from our newest addition, Vice Principal Ms. April Kelley.
The game kept everyone on edge from start to finish. Both teams showed impressive skill and determination, with the teachers giving it their all despite a few scrapes and bruises along the way. In the end, the students narrowly claimed victory with a final score of 30–28, sending the crowd into cheers.
At halftime, the excitement continued with a lively Jumbo-Tron experience, organized by STUCO, while additionally the cheerleaders and the NMS band entertained throughout the game. This creative and engaging moment added an extra layer of fun, truly serving as the icing on the cake for an already thrilling morning.
The celebration didn’t stop there. The day concluded with a vibrant color run organized by the PTSA, where participants covered the course in bursts of color and laughter. It was a joyful and energetic finale that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.
Field Day at Netzaberg Middle School was more than just a series of events — it was a celebration of togetherness. Students and staff alike left feeling appreciated, connected, and supported, making it a perfect way to close out the school year.
